Great News, But We're Not Done
Our Free and Fair Elections resolution has passed the House Committee of the Whole this evening! We expect a second reading tomorrow, and hopefully a third and final (adoption) vote on Wednesday. We have been informed by a representative that YOUR OUTREACH MADE A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON THIS OUTCOME.
PLEASE KEEP CONTACTING YOUR REPRESENTATIVE! We don’t have an accounting of yays and nays (it passed on a voice vote). If you believe your representative voted Yes, please contact them and thank them for their vote; we are going to need every one of those votes on Wednesday. If you aren’t sure how your representative voted, contact them anyway and ask for a YES VOTE ON HJ008.
ACTION ALERT: Things continue to move very fast. If you are able and willing, please consider coming to the JONAH BUILDING in Cheyenne on Wednesday to personally send your representative a note to vote YES ON HJ008. We are hoping to organize a Wyoming Promise volunteer to be available to help you contact your representative IN PERSON, which is more powerful than a phone call, email, or any other tool we can yield. Please Send Us a Note if you can be there on a possibly historic day.
We have created a web page where you can find your Representative and then send an email immediately: https://wyomingpromise.org/send-them-a-note/
If this passes the house on third reading, it will go back to the senate, and that is where our next uphill battle will take place, so please stay tuned and informed on how you can continue to make this effort, your effort, a reality.
WE ARE SO CLOSE!!! Keep up the great work everybody!
